The article warns against adding excessive salt to meals, stating that it can have negative effects on body
Salt, also known as sodium chloride, contains 40% sodium and 60% chloride. Excessive salt consumption, particularly through salt seasoning, is alarming and has been flagged by the medical community. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed Aslam, HOD and consultant at Ramaiah Memorial Hospital, highlighted India’s shocking salt consumption and cited the Indian Council of Medical Research’s ‘One Pinch of Salt’ campaign. He explained that excessive salt intake leads to a dangerous chain reaction, putting pressure on the heart and arteries, leading to hypertension and a compromised cardiovascular system. This increases the risk of heart attacks, strokes, kidney issues, and even renal failure, affecting not only the heart and brain but also the kidneys.
