Gold price today!

Gold and silver prices surged to fresh record highs on the MCX on Thursday, supported by strong global and domestic cues and a weaker dollar. MCX Gold December futures rose nearly ₹1,200, or 1%, to a new high of ₹1,28,395 per 10 grams, while MCX Silver December futures jumped around ₹2,500, or 1.5%, to ₹1,64,660 per kg. By 9:30 am, gold traded at ₹1,27,960 and silver at ₹1,63,812.

Globally, gold hit a new record as investors turned to safe-haven assets amid dollar weakness, US political and economic concerns, and expectations of Federal Reserve rate cuts. The dollar index slipped 0.4% as the US government shutdown entered its second week and trade tensions with China escalated after Washington criticized Beijing’s rare earth export curbs.

Analysts expect short-term volatility in bullion due to US-China trade developments and dollar movements, though the long-term outlook remains positive. Experts recommend buying gold between ₹1,25,500–₹1,27,000 with targets of ₹1,28,500–₹1,30,000, and silver between ₹1,59,500–₹1,62,000 targeting ₹1,64,000–₹1,66,500, maintaining appropriate stop losses.
