Mangaldai Crushes Hailakandi by 107 Runs in Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy
Under the initiative of the Assam Cricket Association and the Mangaldai Sports Association, the Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy Senior Inter-District Cricket Tournament is currently being held at the Mangaldai Sports Association stadium. In today’s match, Mangaldai defeated Hailakandi by a massive 107 runs. Choosing to bat first, Mangaldai scored 251 runs in 48.3 overs before being bowled out. Gaurav Thakuria: 84 runs, Sanjay Singh: 40 runs, Nipan Deka: 36 runs , Arbaz Shardul Zaman: 32 runs . Manaka’s bowling was effective for the opposition, taking 4 wickets for 46 runs.
In response, Hailakandi’s innings collapsed under pressure. They were bowled out for only 144 runs in 31 overs. Hitesh scored 37 runs, while Pratikshat contributed 29 runs. The victory was spearheaded by Nipan Deka, who claimed 5 wickets for 29 runs. Other contributors included Soumyajyoti Das with 12 runs and Barbun Bhagya who took 1 wicket. Nipan Deka was named the Man of the Match for his all-round performance (36 runs and 5 wickets). With this dominant 107-run win, Mangaldai has solidified its position in the tournament. Despite rain interrupting play for a brief period during the match, the game was completed smoothly.
