PM Vishwakarma Scheme Boosts Branding, Finance and Digital Skills Among Artisans

The MSME Development & Facilitation Office (MSME DFO), Dimapur, in collaboration with the District Industries Centres of Kohima and Mon, organised awareness workshops to help local artisans and craftspeople strengthen their businesses under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. A workshop held at the DPDB Conference Hall, Kohima, on September 11 focused on branding and marketing, while a similar programme was conducted at the Town Council Hall, Mon, on September 9. Officials highlighted how the scheme can support traditional artisans through identity and certification, skill development, toolkits and financial assistance, helping them make their professions more commercially viable. The Kohima programme also saw the sanctioning and distribution of the first tranche of loans to beneficiaries. Participants at both workshops received practical guidance on product packaging, labelling, design, artificial intelligence, e-commerce onboarding, export development, QR code generation, financial literacy and business development. The Mon workshop included interactive sessions on AI-based product design, GST registration for digital market access, export readiness, QR code implementation, financial discipline, pricing strategies and SMART business targets. Speakers and officials emphasised the importance of adopting digital platforms, improving product presentation and developing effective marketing strategies to reach wider markets. The workshops aimed to equip traditional artisans with practical business and digital skills, strengthen their enterprises and create greater opportunities for sustainable income and market expansion. Through such initiatives, the PM Vishwakarma Scheme is seeking to connect traditional skills with modern technology, finance and market opportunities while supporting the growth of local entrepreneurship in Nagaland.
