Governor Yadav Calls for Enhanced Field Inspections and Sectoral Growth During Tseminyu District Review
Nagaland Governor Nand Kishor Yadav visited Tseminyu district on September 30, 2026, holding an interactive meeting with district officers and civil organizations at the DC Conference Hall to champion inclusive development and grassroots progress. Addressing the gathering, the Governor highlighted that while Tseminyu is an administratively young district established in February 2022, it represents an ancient, culturally rich society as the traditional homeland of the Rengma Nagas, urging officials to step out of offices, conduct regular field inspections, and directly understand citizens’ grievances. He emphasized that proper implementation of flagship schemes, welfare programs, and infrastructure projects must be monitored closely using modern digital tools. Recognizing agriculture, horticulture, livestock, and poultry as core livelihood pillars, he recommended forming self-help groups and producers’ organizations to foster local processing and market linkages. Furthermore, the Governor stressed that robust education and functional healthcare systems are fundamental to long-term community advancement, noting that essential services must effectively reach remote rural populations. He also underscored the critical need for comprehensive infrastructure, including reliable electricity, clean drinking water, all-weather roads, and enhanced digital connectivity, alongside promoting sustainable tourism driven by community initiatives. Earlier during the session, Tseminyu Deputy Commissioner Japheth Woch briefed the Governor on foundational challenges facing the region, notably shortages of administrative officers, healthcare facilities, and higher education institutions, while mentioning its recent designation as a Piggery District. Echoing these concerns, Rengma Hoho president Gwasinlo Thong appealed for specific job reservations for the Rengma community and highlighted the severe hurdles students encounter due to the absence of a local college. The program, chaired by EAC Molosangla Ozukum and welcomed by MLA and DPDB chairman Ar. Jwenga Seb, featured comprehensive departmental reviews from KVK, Land Resources, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Mission Vatsala, and Mission Shakti, reinforcing a collaborative administrative commitment to overcoming developmental bottlenecks and uplifting the socio-economic landscape of the district through targeted policy execution and active community partnership.
