BookMyShow Joins Assam Under MoU To Organize Global Concert

The Assam Tourism Development Corporation has partnered with BigTree Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the parent company of BookMyShow, to establish the state as a prominent destination for worldwide music events and live entertainment. In Guwahati, officials signed the Memorandum of Understanding in the presence of the Assam Chief Minister. He referred to the partnership as a “new chapter” in Assam’s cultural history, reflecting increased confidence in the state’s ability to organize large-scale international events. Under this deal, BookMyShow would be the only ticketing portal for forthcoming performances in Assam. The cooperation seeks to simplify tickets and improve the audience experience for all upcoming events.

The Chief Minister announced the news on X, writing: “Ticketing became simple! Assam is all set to become the next great concert and event destination, and bookmyshow will be your one-stop shop for all tickets!” This move comes after the Assam Cabinet approved the state’s much-anticipated Concert Economy Policy in December, which lays out a plan to position Assam as a prominent participant in India’s entertainment sector.

As part of the policy’s implementation, Guwahati will hold a massive concert on December 5 with Grammy-nominated American musician Post Malone. “In December, Guwahati will host a mega concert that will rival similar events in our neighbouring state, Meghalaya,” Sarma told reporters.
