Rengma Nagas supports eviction and urges Assam to protect indigenous land rights
The All Rengma Welfare Organisation (ARWO) in Assam-Nagaland has called on the Assam Government to recognize and restore the traditional rights of the Rengma Nagas over their ancestral lands. The organisation appreciates Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s action in evicting illegal settlers from the Rengma Reserve Forest and calls for permanent measures to prevent future encroachment. The ARWO also thanks various civil society organizations, youth organisations, Naga political groups, and Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for their proactive efforts.
