Tata Harrier EV’s Summon Mode Glitch Allegedly Causes D*ath

Tata Motors recently launched the Harrier EV, which gained attention for its autonomous parking feature called Summon Mode, allowing the car to be parked remotely using the key fob. However, during an event in Tamil Nadu, this system reportedly malfunctioned, causing the vehicle to roll back on its own and tragically leading to a fatal accident. A video of the incident went viral, showing the car rolling down a slope and striking an object, resulting in the death of a man.

Tata Motors expressed condolences in an official statement, saying, “We are deeply saddened by the loss and extend our heartfelt support to the family.” The company is investigating the incident and noted preliminary video evidence suggests the car rolled back due to gravity without the motor being engaged. The vehicle remains with the family and has been used since the accident, so Tata Motors has not yet had the chance to examine it. The video, reportedly shared by a relative of the Harrier EV owner on Reddit, confirms the accident happened while the car was in Summon Mode.
