Walkathon Held In Jiribam District For International Day Against Drugs

Today, the Jiribam District Police and Administration hosted a Walkathon at the District Headquarters to commemorate the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The ceremony, headed by Superintendent of Police, Sheikh Mohd Zaib Zakir, IPS, began at 9:30 a.m. It began at Irawat Chowk and finished at the Echel Club Ground in Dibong. Participants included District Police personnel, Kasturba Girls High School instructors and students, as well as district-level authorities and administrators.

Participants marched through the streets, holding placards and banners with anti-drug messages, to raise awareness about the risks of drug misuse. The gathering emphasized the significance of community participation in creating a healthy and drug-free community.

According to the organizers, the initiative’s goal is to educate the public about the negative impacts of substance usage and urge people to make educated decisions about their health and well-being.
