NEW DELHI : Retail tomato prices have surged to Rs 155 per kg in major cities nationwide due to supply disruptions caused by rainfall in the producing areas. In metropolitan areas, tomatos retail prices ranged from Rs 58 to Rs 148 per kg, with Kolkata recording the highest price at Rs 148 per kg and Mumbai the lowest at Rs 58 per kg. However, tomatoes price reached of Rs 160 per kg in retail markets in Mumbai.

MUMBAI : On Tuesday, as the price of tomatoes reached an unprecedented high of Rs 160 per kg in retail markets in Mumbai, the prices of various other vegetables also surged. Beans are priced at Rs 250 per kg. while green peas range from Rs 250 to Rs 300 per kg. Green chillies are particularly expensive, costing between Rs 200 and Rs 300 per kg. Additionally, ginger is being sold for Rs 250 to Rs 350 per kg, and coriander is priced at approximately Rs 350. Even each lemon selling price 12 to 15 repees.

OTHER CITIES: In Chennai, the price of tomatoes was recorded at 117 per kg, whereas it surged to Rs 150 per kg in Moradabad. Additionally, the highest price noted was Rs 155 per kg in Siliguri, West Bengal, according to the data provided.
