Former MP Queen Oja Inaugurates ‘Gupshup’ Sports and Recreation Hub in Guwahati

A new sports and leisure destination, “Gupshup – TRAIN • PLAY • RELAX. ALL UNDER ONE ROOF,” opened in Guwahati on September 14.

Former MP Queen Oja and Mayuri Oja, Director of Handloom and Textiles, Assam and Managing Director of ARTFED, graced the inauguration ceremony.

Located on the fifth floor of the ARTFED Building in Rehabari, Guwahati, Gupshup is a new sports and recreation hub offering a cricket academy, indoor turf and café under one roof.

The facility aims to create a convenient and comprehensive sports and recreation ecosystem for cricket enthusiasts, fitness lovers and families.

Young and aspiring cricketers can train at the academy under professional coaches and develop their skills. Friends, cricket enthusiasts and corporate teams can also book the indoor turf and enjoy games at their preferred time.

After a game, visitors can relax at the in-house café with coffee and food while spending time with friends and family. The informal and social atmosphere reflects the spirit behind the name “Gupshup”.

Gupshup owner Gautam Agarwal said Guwahati has a strong cricket culture but lacked a dedicated space where people could train, play with friends and relax after a game.

“There was a need for a place where people could train, play and spend quality time together. Gupshup is our response to that need. Our goal is to create a platform for Guwahati’s cricket community where everyone can train, play and connect with one another,” Agarwal said.

Agarwal also announced plans to introduce badminton and pickleball facilities on the rooftop.

The new facility is set to offer a one-stop destination for cricket training, indoor sports, recreation and social interaction in Guwahati.
