Air India Delhi–Bengaluru flight lands in Bhopal after technical snag
In another instance of an emergency diversion, an Air India flight from Delhi to Bengaluru was redirected to Bhopal after a technical issue was detected mid-flight, the airline stated on Tuesday, 4 November. Flight AI2487 safely landed at Raja Bhoj Airport on Monday night, where it is currently undergoing precautionary inspections. An Air India spokesperson described the disruption as an “unforeseen situation,” apologising for the inconvenience caused to passengers. The spokesperson added that the ground team in Bhopal provided immediate assistance, with all efforts being made to ensure passengers reach their destination at the earliest.
In a separate incident, an Air India flight from San Francisco to Delhi was forced to make a precautionary landing at Ulaanbaatar Airport in Mongolia due to a suspected technical snag. Passengers were safely disembarked, provided with hotel accommodations, and assisted by local authorities and the airline’s partners. Air India emphasised that the diversion was undertaken solely for safety, and alternative arrangements are being made to transport passengers to Delhi as quickly as possible.
Earlier, technical issues had also caused a flight cancellation on 17 October, prompting Air India to operate an additional Milan-Delhi flight on 19 October.
