Tata Motors Commences Operations at New Tamil Nadu Manufacturing Plant

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (TMPV) has officially begun operations at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Panapakkam, within the Ranipet district of Tamil Nadu. The facility’s inauguration was led by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin and Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, marking a major expansion for the group. Highlighting the plant’s high-end production capabilities, the first vehicle to roll off the assembly line was the locally manufactured Range Rover Evoque from JLR.

The new site is positioned as a cornerstone for “future-ready” manufacturing, aimed at delivering high-quality vehicles for both domestic and international markets. Chief Minister Stalin emphasized that the project reinforces Tamil Nadu’s status as a global automotive hub and supports the state’s commitment to job creation and innovation. Chairman Chandrasekaran further noted that the Panapakkam facility is a significant milestone in accelerating India’s leadership in sustainable manufacturing and advanced automotive technology.
