8th Asian Masters Athletic Championship to Kick Off in Nalbari on June 6
Under the initiative of the Nalbari Sports Association, the 8th Asian Masters Athletic Championship is scheduled to be held on June 6 at the Nalbari Sarusajai Indoor Stadium. The competition will feature events for Senior (Men/Women) and Junior (Under 20) categories. More than 400 athletes from various states are expected to participate in this day-long event.
The information was shared by Nippon Das, the Secretary and Coordinator of the Assam Athletic Association. To ensure the smooth management of the games, a powerful steering committee has been formed, consisting of Jayanta Malla Baruah (MLA & President of the Nalbari Sports Association) as President. Babul Talukdar (General Secretary) as the Managing Secretary. Abhijit Kalita and Partha Pratim Lahkar as Joint Secretaries. Jayant Dutt and Nayan Kalita as Treasurers.
Twelve technical officials have already been assigned responsibility for the competition by the Assam Athletics Association. Today, in the presence of Nalbari Sports Association General Secretary Babul Talukdar and State Coordinator Nippon Das, several key figures were present, including Ramesh Mahanta (Vice President, Nalbari Sports Association), Utpal Deka (Secretary), Ankit Sharma (Assistant Secretary), Kalyan Barman (Athletics Secretary), Babul Goswami (Football Secretary), Uman Barman (Table Tennis Secretary)
Additional coordinators and members from the Assam Football Association and Nalbari Sports Association, such as Debojit Deka, Abhijit Kalita, Nirish Medhi, and Gautam Kalita, were also involved in the planning. The Nalbari Sports Association officials expressed their commitment to making this national-level event a success.
