Mohammed Shami acquitted in cheque bounce case

A court has acquitted cricketer Mohammed Shami in connection with a cheque bounce case. Notably, Mohammed Shami’s estranged/divorced wife filed the case alleging that a cheque worth 1 lakh rupees had bounced.
Following lengthy hearings for this case, which was registered back in 2018, a local court in Alipore finally cleared Shami of the charges.
It is worth mentioning that after their separation, Shami pays 1.5 lakh rupees monthly to his wife for maintenance. Additionally, he provides 2.5 lakh rupees per month for his daughter’s education expenses. Despite this, his wife approached the Supreme Court claiming the amount was insufficient; however, the court reprimanded her and dismissed the petition.
