Dynamic Duo Gill and Sudharsan Make IPL History for Gujarat Titans

Gujarat Titans openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan have etched their names into the Indian Premier League record books during their clash against Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium. By crossing the 600-run milestone individually, they became the first opening pair from the same franchise in IPL history to have both batters score over 600 runs in consecutive seasons, having previously achieved the feat. During the match, the duo stitched together a spectacular 125-run stand, powering Gujarat Titans to a formidable total of 229/4 and solidifying their status as one of the most prolific and consistent top-order combinations in the league.

The landmark innings also triggered several major individual and partnership milestones for the high-flying opening pair. This knock marked Sudharsan’s fifth consecutive fifty-plus score, placing him in an elite consistency club alongside legends like Virender Sehwag and David Warner, while simultaneously securing his spot at the top of the Orange Cap leaderboard with 638 runs. Meanwhile, skipper Shubman Gill completed his own milestone by becoming the seventh-fastest batsman in men’s T20 history to cross 6,000 career runs. Furthermore, the duo registered their 10th century stand together in T20 cricket, equalling the all-time historic record held by iconic pairs like Virat Kohli-Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli-AB de Villiers.
