Cabinet approves Assam State Data Policy 2026

The State Cabinet today gave its nod to the notification and implementation of Assam State Data Policy (ASDP) 2026, which will replace the policy of 2022.
ASDP, 2026, provides for establishment of the Centre for Data Management (CDM) — the nodal agency to execute a unified statewide repository for Analytics and AI, mandating systematic data sharing across all departments to drive innovation.
The Cabinet meeting, held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma at Lok Sewa Bhawan in Dispur this evening, also approved the draft address by the Governor of Assam under Article 176(1) of the Constitution of India in the first session of the 16th Assam Legislative Assembly on May 22.
