Guwahati Chess Champions Crowned at Modern School Hatigaon Tournament

A chess competition was held on May 1st and 2nd at the Modern School in Hatigaon. A total of 86 players of various ages from the Guwahati metropolitan area participated in this competition.
In the boys’ Under-11 category, Aarush Shaswat secured the first position. Subrat Dekari came second, Hayansh Dekari third, and Sashwik Dey secured the fourth position. These four players will represent Guwahati in the All Assam Inter-District competition.
In the girls’ Under-11 category, Afrid Aziz won first place. Similarly, in the boys’ Under-7 category, Akshat Bhuyan took first place, and in the girls’ Under-7 category, Ishanavi Rajbanshi secured the first position. Pranab Kumar Nath managed the competition as the chief arbiter, assisted by Monimala Sinha.
