Local Tennis Stars Shine Bright: Assam Players Dominate AITA Championship Semi-finals

Local players have shown excellent performance in the AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament organized by the All Assam Tennis Association (AATA) in Guwahati. In the Under-14 and Under-16 categories for both boys and girls, several players from the state have advanced to the singles semi-finals.
In today’s quarterfinals, Pratyush Chaliha, Krishi Borah, Farhan Jyoti, and Namish Sureka secured their spots in the final four by winning their respective matches. On the other hand, in the girls’ quarterfinals, Nishita Bakliwal and Arnavie Kumar created upsets by defeating seeded players to reach the semi-finals. Additionally, Chandrama T. Pathak, Anirban (Deva), and Nikhit K. Hazarika also moved forward.
The tournament, which features Under-14 and Under-16 players, is being held at the Chachal Tennis Complex in Guwahati. Along with the singles quarterfinals, several doubles matches were also completed today.
In the girls’ Under-16 singles semi-finals, Chandrama Chaliha and Arisha Malik Choudhury will compete. In the boys’ Under-16 category, Pratyush Chaliha advanced to the final by defeating his opponent \bm{6-1}, \bm{6-2}. The final matches for all singles and doubles categories are scheduled to be held tomorrow.
