Nagaland Government Committed to Upgrading Administrative Facilities Across 17 Districts Says CAWD Advisor Khamo
Advisor for Civil Administration Works Division, Kudecho Khamo, recently convened a high-level coordination meeting with departmental officials at the conference hall in Kohima to review ongoing projects and strategic initiatives, warmly welcoming the posting of newly appointed Assistant Chief Engineer Er. Ketuoselie Kenguruse while highlighting the vital interconnection between engineers and administrative officers and stressing the absolute necessity for mutual understanding, seamless cooperation, and sincere dedication in carrying out public service responsibilities entrusted to them, noting that while elected representatives and government officials fulfill distinct roles they share a common mandate to serve the public with positivity and joy despite facing difficult working and living conditions across Nagaland’s extensive administrative network spanning seventeen districts where infrastructure and residential facilities remain inadequate, though the state government under Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is actively working to gradually improve these amenities so officers can serve with dignity, while also commending personnel who maintain facilities using limited resources or personal funds and reminding both officials and citizens of their collective duty to protect government property, before underscoring the critical importance of preparing timely Detailed Project Reports to ensure infrastructure development keeps pace with administrative requirements, expressing strong concern over landowners obstructing approved projects after receiving compensation and employment benefits—practices he termed morally wrong and detrimental to progress—and urging all officials to foster coordination and teamwork to enhance public service delivery across the state, with the meeting also featuring remarks from Deputy Commissioner Vekhoyi Chakhesang emphasizing district requirements and a comprehensive review session led by the new Assistant Chief Engineer where engineers evaluated project progress and discussed future operational strategies.
