The third edition of the Nagaland Potato Festival was held at Jakhama ground in Kohima on Friday with Minister for Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse attending the event as the special guest.
Speaking at the event, Kruse applauded and encouraged the farmers for their immense effort and their contribution towards such an event.
The Minister said that such a festival can showcase the state’s agriculture potential where the farmers can have a lot of exposure, tell their stories and connect to the market.
The festival, featuring 64 stalls, focused on organic produce, agriculture and local entrepreneurship. It has been organised to boost market access for farmers and promote sustainable and modern farming techniques.
The event also showcased sale of local farm products, handicrafts and traditional games and more
“Honoured to be part of the 3rd Edition of the Nagaland Potato Festival 2026 at Jakhama Village. This festival is more than a celebration of potatoes, it is a celebration of our farmers, our land and the growing potential of Nagaland’s agri-trade sector,” Kruse later took to social media to state.
