Noklak Gets Dedicated Mobile Healthcare Service Under DHFW-TATA AIG Partnership
The Department of Health & Family Welfare (DHFW) has launched a GPS-enabled Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) for Noklak district to improve healthcare access in remote and difficult-to-reach areas. The unit was inaugurated at the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare in Kohima on July 24.
Supported under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme of TATA AIG General Insurance Company, the initiative aims to provide essential healthcare services closer to communities that face challenges in accessing medical facilities.
Operating as a Mobile Ayushman Arogya Mandir, the unit will deliver Primary Health Centre (PHC) services and healthcare packages directly to people across remote locations in Noklak district. The initiative is expected to strengthen preventive healthcare and ensure timely medical assistance for residents.
Representatives of TATA AIG said the Noklak MMU is the third such unit supported by the company in Nagaland and coincides with its 25th anniversary. The initiative forms part of the company’s broader efforts to promote accessible healthcare and sustainable social development in underserved regions.
Commissioner and Secretary of DHFW, Anoop Khinchi, highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare and urged greater awareness about healthy lifestyles and dietary practices. Officials from Swasti said the initiative represents a long-term commitment to bringing life-saving healthcare services to communities across Nagaland’s challenging terrain.
Mission Director of NHM, Dr. Keveduyi Theyo, described the launch as a historic milestone for Noklak, providing residents with dedicated mobile healthcare services free of cost. The programme concluded with the ceremonial flagging off of the Mobile Medical Unit by dignitaries
