India’s men’s table tennis team got off to a flying start at the World Team Table Tennis Championships, thrashing Tunisia 3-0 in their opening match. Meanwhile, the women’s team received a walkover against their opponents. The Indian men’s team, led by Manush Shah, Manav Thakkar, and Harmeet Desai, dominated their Tunisian counterparts, winning all three matches comfortably. Manush Shah got the ball rolling with a 11-5, 9-11, 11-3, 11-5 win over Abid Wyasimi. Manav Thakkar followed suit, crushing his opponent 11-3, 11-3, 11-3. Harmeet Desai rounded off the victory, beating Abubakar Boras 11-5, 11-4, 11-8. India is currently topping Group 1 of the first stage, with Slovakia and Guatemala up next .
