BCCI Slams IPL Franchises Over Security Breach, Warns of Action Against Unauthorized Access

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has expressed its displeasure over the frequent entry of unauthorized individuals into restricted areas, including players’ rooms, during the current IPL. Today, the BCCI sent an advisory warning regarding this matter to various IPL franchise teams.
Board Secretary Devajit Saikia termed these incidents “concerning” and stated that they are completely contrary to standard anti-corruption and player security protocols. He noted that this season, it has been observed that several IPL franchises and players have frequently violated these rules.
The BCCI has noticed that during this IPL period, many unauthorized people are moving around with the teams and players. It has even been observed that these individuals are accessing hotel corridors where players stay and entering the rooms of team officials. Such actions are a direct violation of anti-corruption regulations. Furthermore, these individuals have been found present in areas that are strictly prohibited for anyone other than the players.
