DDTWTA Marks 7th Foundation Day with Launch of WHIZZ Ride-Hailing Platform

Marking a major step toward digitalizing local transport and fostering youth employment, the WHIZZ ride-hailing and mobility platform was officially launched in Dimapur on August 29, 2026. The launch took place during the 7th Foundation Day celebration of the Dimapur District Two Wheeler Taxi Association (DDTWTA) at the Kuda ‘A’ Khel Jotsoma Community Hall. Zasivikho Zakiesato, president of the Dimapur Urban Council Chairman Federation (DUCCF), unveiled the app as the chief guest, lauding the association’s commitment to creating sustainable livelihoods and disciplined public service. Hosted by Matsung Ozukum, the event commenced with an invocation by Vikito Wotsa, followed by welcome remarks from Action Committee Convenor Khrozote Kapfo and a presidential address by DDTWTA President Shiyeto Wotsa, who reflected on the association’s vital role in providing affordable community mobility. The occasion also highlighted public safety through an informative traffic awareness presentation by the Dimapur Traffic Police, alongside musical performances and a special feature titled “I am a Taxi Rider.” General Secretary Honko Konyak delivered the vote of thanks, closing the celebration before members gathered for a communal feast.
