Nagaland Tourism Delegation Completes Exposure Trip to Arunachal Pradesh

A delegation of eight tourism stakeholders from Nagaland, including tour operators, homestay owners and guides, returned from a six-day exposure trip to Arunachal Pradesh held from August 24 to 29, 2026, under the regional initiative “Kiyak Laam Kraam: Our Journey – Tourism and Culture Experience Tour.” The programme brought together around 100 tourism stakeholders from all eight northeastern states to visit 11 destinations, exchange best practices in hospitality and gain firsthand experience of community-based tourism models. The Nagaland delegation visited Ziro, Namsai, Pasighat and Shergaon, gaining insights into local tourism practices and opportunities for stronger regional collaboration. A key highlight of the programme was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Arunachal Pradesh Industries Department and the North East India Tourism Confederation (NEITC), aimed at promoting deeper cooperation between governments and private tourism operators. Arunachal Pradesh Tourism Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona highlighted the importance of interstate collaboration, urging stakeholders to balance tourism growth with environmental conservation and work together to showcase the Northeast’s rich cultural heritage. Supported by the Centre’s RAMP initiative and curated by Rajiv Gandhi University in partnership with state agencies, the programme seeks to encourage sustained intra-regional travel and knowledge exchange among northeastern states, strengthening tourism opportunities across the region.
