Rajnu Boro Cricket: Cricket Club of Dibrugarh Victorious
Cricket Club of Dibrugarh (CCD) emerged victorious in the Rajnu Boro Memorial Prize Money T20 Cricket Tournament organized by the Dibrugarh District Sports Association at the Dibrugarh Jalan Outdoor Stadium. In the final match held today, CCD defeated Dibrugarh Cricket Coaching Centre by 6 wickets.
Winning the toss in the morning, Dibrugarh Cricket Coaching Centre chose to bat first and scored 120 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their stipulated 20 overs. For the team, captain Jayan Yasin Ahmed scored the highest with 35 runs, Sajjad Jalil made 23 runs, and Rahim Babu contributed 19 runs. CCD captain Gunjan Jyoti Deka claimed 3 wickets.
Coming on to bat next, CCD reached the designated target in 18.1 overs for the loss of 4 wickets, anchored by Gunjan’s 43 runs and Sambhav Agarwal’s unbeaten 42 runs. Gunjan Jyoti Deka was awarded the Best Batter of the tournament, Deepak Gohain from the Chabura Namasya team was named the Best Bowler, Rahim Babu from the Coaching Centre won the Player of the Tournament, and Gunjan Jyoti Deka was also honored as the Player of the Final.
The prizes were distributed at the closing ceremony, which was attended by Dibrugarh District Sports Association President Niranjan Saikia, former state cricketers Nilam Baruah and Ajit Hazarika, trophy donor Rituraj Boro, District Sports Association Working President Manas Jyoti Dutta, and Treasurer Pranab Sonowal. The winning team received a trophy along with a cash prize of ₹25,000, while the runners-up team received a trophy and cash prize of ₹15,000.
