Women’s Football Club at Darrang College defeated by Puthimari

With the aim of enabling female students to advance equally in the field of sports alongside education, Darrang College, a leading higher education institution in North Assam, has recently placed greater emphasis on sports. With this objective in mind, the Darrang College Women’s Football Club has been formed featuring talented players from different parts of the state who have recently joined the college.
It is noteworthy that a friendly match was held today at the Darrang College playground between the Darrang College Women’s Football Club and the Puthimari Football Club. In a highly competitive match, Puthimari Football Club emerged victorious by a margin of 2-1 goals.
In this regard, the Principal of Darrang College informed that talented female football players enrolled in the college will be provided with special facilities as well as hostel accommodations. The college authorities have taken this step with the aim of increasing the popularity of football among women across the state as well as the entire country.
