Assam’s Nayanmoni Saikia and Hriday Hazarika Clinch Double Gold at National Shooting Championship
Two gold medals came to Assam’s account in the National Rifle and Pistol Shooting Championship held in Bhopal.
The Assam pair of Nayanmoni Saikia and Hriday Hazarika won gold in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event for senior category. They defeated the Maharashtra pair 17–11 in the final. Nayanmani Saikia, an international shooter from Assam, won another gold in the 10m Air Rifle Women (Individual) event. She has earlier won medals for the country in various international competitions including the Commonwealth Games. Congratulating them on the success were the Assam Rifle Association, Sports Authority of Assam, and various sports organizations of the state, along with several prominent persons. The championship was organized by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI). Players from various states across the country participated. Medal winners were given cash prizes, trophies, and certificates.
